The Christmas Lights

There is something magical about the month of December. I love driving home from work in the early evenings when people are just starting to turn their outside Christmas lights on. The Christmas lights give a sense of peace to me. If there is a layer of snow on the ground or some falling snowflakes, it gives this magnificent glow that seems like something out of a fairytale. Some people can't stand the cold weather and are not fans of Christmas, but I love the entire month of December. Sure, Christmas Day is wonderful, but the magic of the season is only intensified by all of the Christmas lights and décor. The malls are always decorated with thousands of Christmas lights and there is always festive music playing in the background. Even the radio stations rotate some festive music in the hourly play lists.

Christmas lights are not just for christmas time anymore. Once upon a time people would get made fun of for leaving their Christmas lights up after Christmas had passed. But I have found that you can leave your christmas lights up until Easter without hearing much from the neighbors.

When I went to college I used strings of christmas lights to decorate my apartment and many other students did the same in their dorm rooms. Lots of the houses in the student neighborhoods had christmas lights decorating the outside of the homes all year round and it made for an attractive addition to otherwise run-down looking domiciles.

Many people like to keep holiday decorating simple and elegant. One of the hottest Christmas light for house decoration is the spotlight. You can feature a great holiday door decoration with a clean, bright spotlight on the feature. This type of Christmas light for house décor is great for traditional homes.

Imagine a traditional colonial home with white siding and a magnificent red door. Add a green decorated holiday wreath and a spotlight and you have the makings for a wonderful yet simple holiday design. The ideal Christmas light for home decorations with a traditional appeal is quite simple.

Christmas is Christmas because of the Christmas lights without the lights there is no more Christmas.

Merry "early" Christmas.
